The HP S3J36A Aruba AP-635 is an indoor wireless access point built for enterprises that need more wireless capacity and wider channels. It operates across 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands using three dedicated radios. The unit supports Bluetooth 5 and connects via two RJ-45 ports rated for 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.

Sustained throughput with ultra tri-band filtering

Under continuous load the AP-635 uses ultra tri-band filtering to eliminate coverage gaps and provide greater resiliency. The three radios each run 2x2:2 MIMO to maintain multi-gigabit traffic without the interference common in dense environments. Maximum aggregate data rates reach 3.9 Gbps while the device draws 8.70 W.

Practical limits of the 6 GHz band and wired uplinks

The 6 GHz band provides up to 1200 MHz of spectrum with up to seven 160 MHz channels for low-latency applications. Wider channels increase throughput but require compatible clients to realise the benefit. Dual 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports remove uplink bottlenecks, yet total wireless throughput cannot exceed the 3.9 Gbps aggregate ceiling.
