Four-Port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

The HP 331FLR is a PCIe 2.0 x4 network card that adds four RJ-45 ports to a compatible ProLiant server. It supports 10 Mb, 100 Mb and 1 Gbps link speeds for wired Ethernet connectivity. The plug-in card form factor fits standard low-profile slots in the listed Gen8 platforms. It is intended for administrators expanding LAN capacity in rackmount or blade environments.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The adapter implements Large Send Offload and Jumbo Frame support to reduce host CPU utilisation during continuous high-throughput traffic. IEEE 802.3ad LACP allows link aggregation across the four ports for increased aggregate bandwidth and failover. Compliant with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, it lowers power draw during periods of light activity. Operating temperature range is 32 °F to 131 °F with 10 to 90 percent non-condensing humidity.

PCIe 2.0 x4 Interface Limits

The card uses a PCIe 2.0 x4 electrical interface, which constrains maximum theoretical throughput to the bandwidth of that generation and lane count. Four Gigabit ports can saturate the bus when all links run at full duplex line rate simultaneously. The adapter complies with FCC Part 15 B, EN55022 Class B, VCCI Class B, RoHS 6/6, UL and ICES standards. No wireless, Bluetooth or fibre connectivity is provided.
