Metal vapour deposition limits colour shift

The ultra-dark effect is produced by a precise metal vapour deposition process rather than dyed glass, which keeps colour balance very neutral even at 16.6 stops. This coating approach prevents the strong colour casts that often appear with lesser filters at such densities, so faithful colour reproduction is maintained during exposures that can exceed one hour in direct sunlight. The filter is not intended for visual solar observation.
