4.3" Mirror Monitor Kit

This kit pairs a 4.3" TFT-LCD rear-view mirror monitor with an LED night-vision backup camera. The resistive touchscreen accepts AV1 and AV2 video inputs and automatically switches to the reversing camera when AV1 is active. It suits drivers who want an integrated display that replaces the stock mirror without a separate dashboard screen. It is not for buyers who need a larger display or a wireless connection.

Resistive Touch Wiring

The monitor runs on DC 12 V and draws 2 W, so it connects to the vehicle's existing 12 V supply. The 5-wire resistive touchscreen is operated by pressing the surface; no special drivers are required. Installers must route the camera's RCA video cable and power leads from the rear to the front, which can be time-consuming on vehicles with tight trim panels. Incorrect polarity on the 12 V feed will prevent the unit from powering on.

480×272 Display and 170° Camera

The monitor shows 480 by 272 pixels at a 300:1 contrast ratio, which is adequate for close-range manoeuvring but lacks detail for high-speed lane changes. The camera uses a 1/3-inch colour CMOS sensor delivering 628 by 582 effective pixels and 420 TV lines across a 170° viewing angle. It operates from -40 °C to +80 °C at up to 95 % humidity. The RCA output provides 1.0 V p-p signal. The fixed 4.3" screen size limits the visible area, so drivers who prefer a wider field of view on a larger panel will find this kit restrictive.
