1" Bulkhead Fitting for Tanks

The Hayward BFA1010CES is a one-inch bulkhead fitting designed for plumbing connections on curved or flat tank walls. It provides a female threaded port on the inside and a female socket connection on the outside for solvent welding. The gray PVC body uses an EPDM gasket to seal against the tank surface without bolt holes. This component suits installers building or repairing pool and spa circulation systems.

Pressure and Temperature Operating Range

The fitting withstands a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and handles continuous temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Its minimum operating temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit, so it remains functional in unheated outdoor installations. Headroom exists for typical pool pump pressures well below the 150 psi limit. The fitting runs out of margin if system pressure spikes above the rating or if water temperature exceeds 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

PVC Solvent-Weld and Threaded Interface

The outside socket accepts standard one-inch PVC pipe for permanent solvent-weld joints that cannot be disassembled once cured. The inside female NPT threads accept male threaded adapters or plugs for removable connections. Installers must apply primer and cement correctly to the socket to prevent leaks under pressure. Threaded joints require appropriate sealant or tape rated for the 150 psi service limit. The interface offers no provision for flanged or mechanical coupling alternatives.
