The Haida Red-Diamond Horizon Line filter is a 100x150mm rectangular graduated neutral density filter designed for landscape photographers who need to balance bright horizons against darker foregrounds. It provides a 4-stop (1.2 density) light reduction across the graduated portion. The filter fits Haida 100 Series and 100-PRO holders as well as compatible 100mm systems from other brands.

Optical Glass Limits and Coating Performance

The filter is crafted from high-quality optical glass with a multi-layer Nanopro coating that reduces reflections and resists scratches, water, oil, and fingerprints. Glass substrates can still break under severe impact despite hardened production processes. The coating makes cleaning easier but does not eliminate the need for careful handling in abrasive environments like blowing sand.

Four-Stop Density and Exposure Headroom

A 1.2 density rating (16x factor) reduces light by four stops across the graduated zone, which handles typical sunrise or sunset horizon brightness differences. Scenes with extreme dynamic range exceeding four stops will still show clipped highlights or blocked shadows. The neutral colour cast ensures accurate colour rendition within the filter's density range.
