Headworn Condenser Microphone for AKG Bodypacks

This headworn condenser microphone terminates in a Mini 3-pin XLR connector wired for AKG and compatible Samson wireless bodypack transmitters. It is intended for presenters, broadcasters, musicians and clergy who need hands-free operation with minimal visibility on stage or in houses of worship. A windscreen is included to reduce breath and wind noise during speech or vocal performance.

Mini XLR Wiring Limits Compatibility

The 3.9 foot (1.2 metre) cable ends in a TA3F Mini XLR plug whose internal pin assignment matches AKG DPT and PT series bodypacks as well as Samson UT1L and VT2L systems. Other manufacturers' transmitters use different wiring schemes, so this headset will not function correctly with Shure, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica or other wireless bodies even if the connector appears physically similar.

Unidirectional Pickup Pattern Defines Use

The condenser capsule uses a unidirectional polar pattern that captures sound primarily from the front while rejecting ambient noise from the sides and rear. This characteristic makes the microphone suitable for single-speaker applications such as lectures, worship leading or stage acting, but it is not designed for round-table discussions or ambient room recording where omnidirectional coverage would be required.
