The GE QH2M/T3/HT-GT 80848 is a 2000-watt, 240-volt quartz heat lamp built for industrial and commercial heating applications. Its sleeve-and-leads base allows direct wiring into fixed installations such as process heaters, drying tunnels or comfort-heating arrays. The clear T3 quartz envelope delivers immediate infrared output without the warm-up delay of conventional bulbs. Dimmable operation lets operators match heat intensity to the process requirement.

2000W output and voltage headroom

At 2000 watts the lamp supplies concentrated radiant heat suitable for targeted drying, curing or zone heating in 240-volt systems. The quartz envelope tolerates rapid cycling and high surface temperatures, so the lamp handles frequent on-off control without premature failure. Running the lamp below its rated voltage reduces output proportionally, while over-voltage operation shortens filament life and risks envelope rupture. The single-piece construction means the entire unit is replaced once the filament expires.

240V fixed-wiring constraints

The sleeve-and-leads base requires permanent wiring into a 240-volt circuit with appropriate insulation and strain relief; it cannot be used in standard lamp holders. Dimming must be provided by a compatible phase-cut or transformer dimmer rated for the full 2000-watt load.
