GE 29672 Electronic Ballast

The GE 29672 is an UltraStart electronic programmed start ballast designed for T8 fluorescent lamps. It operates on multi-voltage technology handling 120 to 277V input. This unit suits commercial or residential lighting retrofits where reliable lamp starting and high efficiency are required. It is not for fixtures using T5, T12, or LED tubes that bypass the ballast.

Parallel Operation and Voltage Range

Parallel lamp operation allows each lamp to function independently, so a single lamp failure does not extinguish the others. This simplifies maintenance scheduling in multi-lamp fixtures. The multi-voltage design covers 120V through 277V, making it a direct replacement for single-voltage magnetic or electronic ballasts in that range. The jump is worth it when upgrading older magnetic ballasts to reduce energy loss and eliminate flicker.

Efficiency Headroom and Lamp Compatibility

Rated at greater than 90% efficiency, the ballast minimises wasted power across its operating voltage window. Anti-striation circuitry reduces visible striations when used with energy-saving T8 lamps. It comfortably handles standard two or three lamp T8 configurations within the 332 model designation. It runs out of headroom if lamp quantities or types exceed the programmed start design limits or if input voltage falls outside the 120 to 277V range.
