The GCROWN switch lets two USB-C computers share four USB 3.2 Gen 2 devices such as keyboards, mice, headsets or external drives. A remote button toggles the active host so you can move between a work laptop and a personal machine without unplugging cables. The unit does not pass video signals and therefore cannot replace a KVM that switches monitors.

10 Gbps Shared Bandwidth Limit

Four downstream ports run at up to 10 Gbps each, but the total throughput is constrained by the single upstream link from the selected computer. Large file transfers across multiple drives at once will compete for that 10 Gbps pipe, and a 1 GB file typically takes about 1.5 seconds under ideal conditions. The switch is backward compatible with slower USB standards at their native speeds.

Host Port Type Affects Power Budget

Maximum downstream power is 2.4 A when both hosts connect via USB-C, but drops to 1.8 A if either host uses a USB-A port with the supplied cables. Bus-powered hard drives, high-current chargers or a daisy-chained hub may exceed this budget and cause instability. Verify that your computers can supply enough current for every peripheral you plan to attach simultaneously.
