Satellite link and VHF range limits

Position updates arrive as frequently as every 2.5 seconds via GPS and Galileo receivers, then travel over VHF to the handheld. The 9-mile figure assumes clear line of sight; heavy timber, ridges or buildings will shorten the practical range. Channel congestion from other users can also degrade the link, so the handheld lets you scan for clear IDs.

Button-driven setup with replaceable power

The 3.5 inch touchscreen works alongside a six-button layout that can be operated with gloves. Collar pairing is done through the menu, and the T20’s user-replaceable battery lasts up to 55 hours per charge. Common issues include forgetting to update collar IDs before a hunt and mounting the collar antenna where the dog’s body blocks the signal.
