Compact document scanner for small offices

The Fujitsu fi-7030 is a USB 2.0 colour document scanner designed for desks where space is limited. It handles simplex scans at 27 ppm and duplex at 54 ipm at 200 or 300 dpi. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder accepts media up to 8.5 by 14 inches and supports carrier sheets for fragile originals. PaperStream IP and Capture software are included for TWAIN and ISIS workflows.

Sustained scanning behaviour

Operating power stays at 17 W or less while the ADF runs continuously through a 50-sheet batch. Sleep mode draws 1.1 W and auto standby drops to 0.15 W, so the unit remains cool during repeated jobs. A half-second start-up and one-second wake from sleep keep the feeder moving without long pauses between batches. The CIS sensor and dual three-colour LED arrays maintain consistent 24-bit colour quality across long runs.

Deciding specification: 600 dpi optical resolution

The fixed 600 dpi optical resolution determines the finest detail the scanner can capture without interpolation. Buyers who need higher native resolution for archival enlargement or specialised forensic work should look elsewhere. For standard office documents, ID cards and forms at 200 to 300 dpi the 600 dpi ceiling is sufficient.
