The Fluke 773 clamp meter measures DC current to 100 mA on 24 V loop circuits without breaking the circuit. A detachable clamp with a 4.5 mm jaw opening reaches tight enclosures on a 1 m extension cable. The tool also sources and simulates 4 to 20 mA signals and supplies DC voltage to 10 V for transmitter testing.

Non-breaking 100 mA DC clamp measurement

The single specification that decides fit is the clamp’s ability to read up to 100 mA DC through a 4.5 mm jaw without circuit interruption. In-circuit measurement with test leads reaches 24 mA DC, while DC voltage measurement covers 30 V. Accuracy is 0.2 % with 0.01 mA resolution, meeting EN IEC 61010-1 and 61010-2-032.

Steady accuracy with built-in loop power

Under sustained load the internal 24 V loop supply powers a transmitter continuously while the meter logs its mA output via the scaled output jack. Dual backlit display shows both mA and percent of 4 to 20 mA span, and the measurement spotlight stays on for dark cabinets. Auto-backlight shutdown after two minutes preserves battery life during long shifts.
