Adults and adolescents aged fourteen or older can self-collect the swab; an adult may collect the sample for children as young as two. The test is intended only for symptomatic people within the first six days of onset and requires serial testing twice over three days with at least forty-eight hours between tests. Buyers who need a single definitive result, who are asymptomatic, or who want influenza C detection should look elsewhere.

How to run the test and common pitfalls

The procedure follows a standard swab, dip and read sequence with clear pictorial instructions.
