This empty saddle sandbag is built for photographers and videographers who need reliable ballast when shooting outdoors or in the studio. It accepts up to 15 lb of sand, soil, rocks or other dense material to anchor light stands, boom arms and background supports. The water-resistant Cordura nylon shell protects the fill from moisture and abrasion during transport and field use.

Replaces improvised weights and single-strap bags

The saddle profile straddles a stand leg or boom arm more securely than a loose bag draped over a brace, reducing the chance of a tip-over when a modifier catches the wind. The double-zipper closure keeps the fill contained so the centre of gravity stays consistent throughout a session. It is not suited for rigs that require more than the rated capacity or for permanent installations where a fixed counterweight is preferred.

Behaviour under sustained outdoor use

The Cordura fabric resists water ingress and UV degradation, so the bag maintains its strength after repeated exposure to rain, sun and grit. The dual handles allow the loaded bag to be repositioned without stressing the seams, and the zipper seal prevents gradual leakage that would lighten the load over a long shoot.
