Low-cost USB signature pad

The ePadlink VP9801 is an entry-level electronic signature capture device that connects through a single USB 2.0 port and draws all power from that connection. It produces legally-binding esignatures and is aimed at offices, counters and mobile users who need a simple way to sign documents on screen without installing a separate power supply.

Wired USB integration and bundled software

The pad plugs directly into a Windows PC and works with the included IntegriSign Desktop software, which adds plug-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat 5.0 to 9.0 so you can sign inside those applications immediately. An SDK with COM and Java interfaces is also supplied for developers who want to embed signature capture in custom PC or web applications. No serial port or additional cabling is required.

3.50 by 2.09 inch active area

The semiconductor FSR sensor provides a signing surface of 3.50" x 2.09" and reports data at 100 counts per second, which is sufficient for typical name-and-date signatures on forms, contracts and receipts. The tethered passive stylus stores in the unit and requires no battery. Larger documents that need a full-page writing area or multi-line freehand notes will exceed the available space.
