Ready-to-use AA rechargeables

This pack contains four Energizer AA nickel-metal hydride cells rated at 1.2 volts and 2300 milliampere-hours. They arrive charged and are intended for digital cameras, PDAs, portable CD players and similar everyday devices. The chemistry supports repeated recharging without the memory effect that affects older nickel-cadmium types.

Check device voltage and charger compatibility

Verify that your equipment accepts 1.2 volt AA cells; some high-drain or voltage-sensitive gear is designed for 1.5 volt primary batteries and may show reduced run-time or incorrect battery-level indication. Ensure you have a charger designed for nickel-metal hydride AA batteries, as chargers for other chemistries or form factors can damage these cells.

Replaces disposable AA alkalines

Each cell can be recharged hundreds of times, replacing a large quantity of single-use alkaline AA batteries over its service life. The upgrade is worthwhile for devices that drain batteries quickly, such as camera flashes or handheld gaming units, where the cost and waste of disposables add up rapidly. It is not suited for equipment that requires the higher initial voltage of fresh alkalines or for ultra-low-drain applications like smoke detectors where self-discharge would require frequent top-ups.
