PCIe 3.0 x16 adapter for M.2 NVMe

This adapter converts a PCIe 3.0 x16, x8 or x4 slot into an M-key M.2 socket for PCIe-based NVMe or AHCI SSDs. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and delivers up to 32 Gbps on PCIe 3.0 x4 or 16 Gbps on PCIe 2.0. The card is aimed at desktop users whose motherboards lack a native M.2 NVMe slot.

Simple plug-in install with included heatsink

Insert the card into any PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot, secure the SSD with the onboard standoff, and attach the supplied aluminium heatsink and thermal pad. No driver is required for Windows, macOS or Linux, though Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 cannot boot from NVMe. The only common error is attempting to fit a SATA-based B-key or B+M-key drive, which the adapter physically and electrically rejects.

Handles up to PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds, not SATA M.2

The adapter comfortably runs any M-key PCIe NVMe or PCIe AHCI SSD at full 3.0 x4 bandwidth, with backward compatibility to PCIe 1.0 and 2.0. It cannot support SATA-channel M.2 drives, so builders needing to add a SATA M.2 SSD must choose a different solution. Mac Pro 2009, 2010 and 2012 systems are limited to PCIe AHCI SSDs only.
