The Electro-Harmonix Key 9 Electric Piano Machine pedal transforms a guitar or keyboard signal into nine distinct electric piano voices. Presets model classic Wurlitzer and Rhodes timbres plus additional variations for funk, rock and ambient styles. Each voice includes adjustable modulation such as tremolo, phaser or chorus to shape the core sound. The unit tracks the input signal directly without triggering delays.

Pedalboard Integration And Power

The pedal operates from the included EHX 9.6DC 200 mA power supply and fits a standard effect chain. It accepts instrument level signals from guitar or keyboard and outputs a processed line level signal to an amplifier or mixer. No MIDI, expression pedal or additional controllers are required for basic operation. The compact enclosure leaves space for neighbouring drive, delay or reverb units.

Upgrade From Single Sound Simulators

Players who have used basic keyboard emulation patches or single preset pedals gain nine selectable voices in one box. The jump is worth it when a set demands authentic Rhodes ballad tones, Wurlitzer funk stabs and experimental textures without switching instruments.
