Three-band portable radio

The Ekevitte EKE88 receives FM, AM and shortwave signals in a pocket-sized chassis that runs on two AA batteries. A 360-degree adjustable antenna and DSP chip aim to pull in distant stations. The 3.5 mm earphone jack allows private listening and a built-in LED flashlight adds utility for camping or power cuts.

Reception limits

FM covers 87-108 MHz, AM covers 522-1620 kHz and shortwave spans 5.9-18 MHz. Shortwave and AM performance depends heavily on local conditions; the supplier advises listening near a window or outdoors and tuning slowly to lock onto weak signals. Indoor reception may be poor in shielded buildings or urban areas with heavy electrical noise.

Simple setup

Insert two AA batteries, extend the antenna and select the desired band using the engraved control markings. The hidden on/off mark beneath the antenna can confuse first-time users, so check the manual before assuming a fault. The back clip and wrist lanyard keep the radio secure during outdoor use.
