Outdoor temperature and humidity sensor

The ECOWITT WH32A- measures outdoor temperature and relative humidity and shows the readings on a built-in LCD screen. It transmits data at 915 MHz to a compatible gateway or console for remote viewing via the WS View Plus or Ecowitt app. The unit is designed for outdoor use and requires two AA batteries, which are not included. It does not measure barometric pressure and has no dip switch to change the temperature unit from the default Fahrenheit.

Wireless range and gateway dependency

The sensor relies on a 915 MHz wireless link to a GW1100 Wi-Fi gateway or to HP2551, HP3501, WN1900 or WN1910 display consoles, all sold separately. Without one of these receivers the data cannot reach the app or any weather server such as Weather Underground, WeatherCloud, WOW or ecowitt.net. The app also requires the temperature and humidity sensor to be enabled on the sensor ID screen before configuration. Obstructions and distance will affect the practical transmission range.

Plastic housing with wall-mount option

The sensor body measures 123 x 42 x 14 mm and is made of plastic with a wall-mountable or hanging design. The manufacturer recommends placing it under an awning or similar shelter to protect it from direct precipitation and sprinklers. Battery access is via a compartment that takes two AA cells. The LCD layout shows temperature, temperature unit and relative humidity percentage.
