Automatic Transfer Switch PDU for Single-Corded

The Eaton EATS120 is a 1U horizontal rackmount power distribution unit that accepts two 120 V NEMA 5-20P input cords and provides ten NEMA 5-20R outlets. It delivers automatic transfer switching for equipment that has only one power supply, keeping the load powered when the primary source fails. Network management is included via an RJ-45 connection for remote monitoring and email alerts. The unit suits server rooms and wiring closets that need redundant power feeds without dual-supply hardware.

Sustained Load Behaviour with Dual-Feed Redundancy

Under continuous operation the PDU passes up to 1.92 kVA through its ten outlets while monitoring current, voltage and active power source on a graphical LCD. If the primary feed drops or exceeds thresholds, the internal switch moves the load to the secondary feed without interruption. When the primary feed returns to normal, power is transferred back automatically. The 16 A input rating defines the maximum steady-state current the device will carry on either input path.

Thermals, Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

The 1U metal chassis measures 1.7 in tall, 17.3 in wide and 9.8 in deep, weighing 9.17 lb, and relies on passive convection cooling with no moving parts. Because there are no fans, acoustic output is effectively silent in a rack environment. The unit itself consumes only the minimal power required for its monitoring electronics and transfer relay, leaving virtually the full 1920 W rating available to connected equipment.
