Threading die for 1/2"-12 pipe

This high-speed steel round adjustable die cuts 1/2"-12 external threads on pipe and tubing. It is intended for plumbers, maintenance technicians and metalworkers who need to create or repair threaded connections in the field or workshop. The tool is supplied new and carries California Proposition 65 warnings for chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Adjustable die with dual chamfers

The die features a 2 to 3 thread chamfer on one face for starting threads and a 1 to 1-1/2 thread chamfer on the opposite face for threading close to a shoulder. Adjustment is made via a fine-pitch screw that spreads the die halves or lets them spring together; the slot is beveled so the screw can be removed when the die is used in a machine holder with its own adjusting screws. Correct alignment and lubrication prevent binding and oversize threads.

Sustained threading performance

High-speed steel construction provides improved wear life during repeated or extended threading operations compared with carbon-steel alternatives. The adjustable design maintains consistent thread pitch over long production runs by compensating for gradual wear through the fine-pitch screw. Heat buildup is managed by the tool material and proper cutting fluid, allowing continuous cutting without rapid loss of dimensional accuracy.
