The integrated privacy cover slides shut to block the lens from dust and unwanted viewing, a physical control no software setting can match. The fixed-focus design means there is no autofocus motor to hunt in low light, so the image stays stable during long sessions. Auto light correction adjusts exposure automatically as room lighting changes.

Installation and common pitfalls

The camera uses a driver-free UVC implementation, so it appears as a standard video device on Windows 7 through 11, Mac OS, Chrome OS and Android TV without extra software. Select the N5 as the active camera and microphone in your conferencing app before starting a call; otherwise the system may default to a built-in device. The microphone picks up sound best when the unit faces the speaker directly — side placement reduces clarity. The USB 2.0 interface limits bandwidth, so the camera cannot support PS5 or other consoles that require higher throughput.
