The Dell X710Product is a dual-port 10Gb SFP+ Ethernet adapter built for virtualised servers and data-centre workloads. It connects through a PCI Express 3.0 host interface and uses Intel X710 silicon validated on Xeon processors. The card targets enterprises, cloud providers and telecoms that need high-throughput, low-latency networking for virtual machines and network functions. Thermals power and acoustics

The adapter draws power directly from the PCI Express slot and relies on the server's internal airflow for cooling. No onboard fan is present, so acoustic output is negligible in a properly ventilated rack. The compact design keeps the thermal footprint small, allowing multiple cards to sit side by side without creating hot spots. Power consumption scales with link utilisation on the two SFP+ ports.

Build integration and cabling

Two SFP+ cages accept standard optical transceivers for fibre connectivity, freeing the builder from fixed copper runs. A single PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot provides the host connection, leaving other expansion slots available for storage or compute cards. The low-profile bracket fits both full-height and half-height server chassis. SR-IOV and VMDq support offload virtualisation tasks from the CPU, reducing software overhead in dense deployments.
