The Dell PowerEdge MX740C is a half-width blade server built for dense compute environments. It ships with two Intel Gold 6134 processors running at 3.2GHz, each providing 8 cores and 24.75M cache. Memory capacity reaches 512GB across 16 DDR4 modules rated at 2933 MT/s. Two 480GB SATA SSDs are pre-installed behind the H730P MX RAID controller.

Sustained throughput with modular fabric

Under sustained load the dual 8-core CPUs and large cache help maintain throughput for virtualisation and database workloads. The H730P MX controller manages the installed SSDs with hardware RAID. Network traffic uses a single MX XXV710 mezzanine card delivering dual-port 10/25Gb SFP28 connectivity. Additional fabric switch or pass-through bays for Fabrics A, B and C are not included, so sustained bandwidth depends on the modules you add.

Rack-ready chassis with remote management

The chassis fits a standard rack as a half-width blade and provides six 2.5-inch drive bays for future storage expansion. An iDRAC9 Express module gives out-of-band remote access for monitoring and firmware updates without a local console. No optical drive is fitted, freeing internal space. Buyers who need more than two pre-installed SSDs or who require the fabric switch bays populated at delivery should plan additional procurement.
