This DBTLAP lithium coin cell replaces the original CMOS BIOS RTC battery in a Lenovo ThinkPad X201 laptop. It restores the system clock and BIOS settings when the existing cell has failed. The part is supplied new and tested before shipping. It is intended for motherboard maintenance, not for main laptop power.

Lithium Coin Cell Interface Limits

The battery uses a standard lithium coin cell form factor that plugs directly into the motherboard header. Polarity and physical dimensions must match the original specification exactly; an incorrect variant will not seat or will damage the socket. No soldering or additional wiring is required for installation. The cell chemistry provides a nominal voltage suitable for real-time clock retention.

Capacity And Headroom For BIOS Retention

The cell delivers sufficient capacity to maintain CMOS settings and the real-time clock for the typical service interval expected of the original component. It comfortably handles the low continuous current draw of the RTC circuit during powered-off periods. Runtime will diminish as the cell ages, eventually requiring another replacement when the clock drifts or settings are lost.
