Dayton GGS 56977 Hand Chain Hoist

The Dayton GGS 56977 is a manual hand chain hoist built for lifting and pulling tasks in workshops and industrial settings. It suits operators who need a portable, human-powered device for positioning heavy loads without relying on electric power sources.

Manual chain operation with 20 ft lift

This hoist uses a hand chain to raise or lower loads up to 6000 lb across a 20 ft lift height. The manual mechanism means speed and duty cycle depend entirely on operator effort, and the 38.06 ft overall chain length defines the maximum reach from the anchor point.

Verify anchor strength

Confirm that the mounting structure can safely support the full 6000 lb working load plus dynamic forces. Ensure the 38.06 ft chain length suits the distance between your anchor and the load, and check that the installation area allows enough room for the operator to pull the hand chain freely.

Questions about this item

Is the 20 ft lift height the right choice for my ceiling clearance?

The hoist provides 20 ft of compatible lift height, so it will raise a load that distance when the chain is fully extended.

How does the 6,000 lb load capacity translate to daily workshop use?

The 6,000 lb rating means the hoist can lift loads up to that weight manually using the hand chain.

What does the 38.06 ft overall length mean for installation space?

The 38.06 ft overall length is the total chain length supplied with the hoist for the 20 ft lift.
