Compact omnidirectional scanner for tight counters

The Datalogic Magellan 1000i uses digital scan patterns to read bar codes omnidirectionally from a small footprint. It autodiscriminates all standard 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear variants and optional 2D codes such as Data Matrix and PDF417. Multiple interfaces including IBM 46xx, RS-232, RS-485, USB and Keyboard Wedge ensure broad host compatibility. The precise imaging volume reduces accidental misreads on crowded counters.

Laser light source with wide angular tolerance

A laser light source provides reliable illumination across a pitch of ±65 degree, yaw of ±75 degree and full 360° roll coverage. No moving parts in the scan engine mean silent operation and low power draw during continuous presentation scanning. The solid-state design eliminates motor wear, keeping performance consistent over long shifts in retail or light-industrial environments.

Upgrades from single-line or handheld scanners

Replaces fixed single-line scanners that require careful item orientation and handheld guns that occupy operator hands. The jump is worth it when counter space is limited and throughput depends on fast, hands-free presentation scanning of 1D and stacked codes. Not for workflows that demand long-range scanning or high-volume 2D code capture without the optional 2D licence.
