Compact PoE-Powered Switch

The D-Link DGS-1100-05PDV2 is a five-port Gigabit switch that draws its own power from an upstream PoE source, so no separate power supply is required. Two downstream ports pass PoE to devices such as access points or cameras while three standard RJ45 ports handle data-only connections. Its fanless metal chassis runs silently and fits on a desktop or a wall mount. Small-office and branch deployments benefit from managed features without the cost of a full-power switch.

Two PoE Pass-Through Ports

Only two of the five ports supply 802.3af/at power to connected endpoints, so the switch suits installations with a limited number of PoE devices. If a deployment needs more than two powered ports, a conventional PoE switch with a dedicated power budget is necessary. The 2K MAC table, 9216-byte jumbo frames and 802.1Q VLAN support handle typical Layer 2 traffic segmentation for this scale.

Fanless Thermal Design

With no moving parts the unit operates from 0°C to 40°C in near-silent conditions, making it suitable for noise-sensitive offices or ceiling voids. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and link-status detection reduce power draw when ports are idle. The compact 4 x 3.25 x 1.1 inch enclosure dissipates heat passively, so adequate airflow around the metal case is the only thermal requirement.
