What this cable does

The Cuntech CY016-BK2M is a 6.6 ft USB Type-C male-to-female extension cable rated for 20Gbps data transfer, 4K@60Hz video output and up to 240W Power Delivery charging. It extends the reach of Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 3 connections, external monitors, docks and high-power laptops without sacrificing the host port's native capabilities. Black nylon braid and aluminium alloy shells protect the 24-pin connectors during daily use.

Installing it and common pitfalls

Plug the male end into the host and the female end into your existing Type-C cable or device; no drivers are required. The cable is backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0, so older peripherals still function at their own speeds. Video output only works when the source device supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, and 240W charging requires a charger and device that both implement USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range; otherwise the link falls back to a lower power profile.

Sustained-load behaviour

The aluminium housings improve heat dissipation during continuous 240W charging sessions, and the braided jacket is tested to withstand more than 20,000 bends without performance loss. Data throughput remains at the 20Gbps ceiling for large-file transfers as long as the connected controller and storage can sustain it. Video signals hold 4K@60Hz or high-refresh 1440p and 1080p modes over the full 6.6 ft length without signal degradation.
