The Cudy GS105D provides five 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports in a compact plastic case. It connects computers, printers, or smart devices to a wired network without any configuration. Auto MDI/MDIX and auto-negotiation handle cable type and speed automatically. The fanless design keeps operation silent on a desktop or inside a distribution box.

Extended Distance and Flow Control Under Load

Each port supports gigabit transmission up to 140 metres using Cat 5e or better cable, which is 40 per cent farther than the usual limit. IEEE 802.3x flow control manages full-duplex traffic while backpressure handles half-duplex, reducing congestion when multiple devices transfer data simultaneously. A 3 Mbit packet buffer and a 10 Gbps switching capacity absorb bursts without blocking. The 2K MAC address table learns and ages entries automatically to maintain throughput.

Practical Limits of the Copper Gigabit Interface

The 140-metre reach applies only when every link runs at 1000 Mbps over Cat 5e or higher cabling. Jumbo frames up to 15 KB can pass through, but larger frames will be dropped. Power comes from an external 5 V 0.55 A adapter, so the switch cannot operate without a nearby outlet. Unmanaged operation means no VLANs, QoS, or port mirroring are available for traffic segmentation.
