SATA 12-Inch Male-Female Extension

This 12-inch red cable extends internal SATA data connections using a 7-pin male-to-female layout. It is built for technicians and builders who need extra reach between a motherboard or controller and a SATA drive. The PVC jacket resists heat up to 80°C, and gold-plated contacts maintain a stable link during drive swaps or bench testing.

SATA I and II 300 Mb/s Speed Rating

The cable carries Serial ATA 150/300 signals at up to 300 megabits per second, so it matches SATA I and SATA II drive speeds without bottlenecking. Shielded 26 AWG solid tinned copper conductors and aluminum mylar wrap keep attenuation and crosstalk low. It will not support the higher throughput of later SATA revisions, so builders using 6 Gb/s drives should choose a different cable.

Simple Plug-In Install With Latch Care

Push the male end onto the host port and the female end onto the drive cable until each latch clicks; no tools or drivers are required. The low-profile connectors fit tight drive bays, but the latch tabs can snag on adjacent cables if pulled at an angle. Route the 2.2 mm by 7.80 mm flat jacket cleanly and release latches by pressing the tab, not by tugging the wire, to avoid damaging the connector housing.
