Wide-Angle Varifocal Lens for CS-Mount Cameras

The Computar Ganz TG2Z1816FCS is a CS-mount varifocal lens built for 1/3" format sensors in analog CCTV installations. It provides a 1.8-3.6mm focal range with 2x zoom, letting installers adjust the field of view on site without swapping fixed lenses. Manual zoom and focus rings with locking setscrews secure the chosen setting. The DC auto iris interface allows the camera to control aperture automatically.

Consistent Aperture Control Across Lighting

The lens maintains an aperture range of f/1.6 to 360C, enabling the camera's auto iris to regulate exposure from low-light scenes to bright daylight. Because the iris is driven by the camera's DC signal, response stays consistent during sustained operation rather than only during brief transitions. All-glass optics and a metal barrel resist thermal drift that could shift focus over long recording periods. Locking screws prevent vibration from altering the focal setting once calibrated.

CS-Mount Interface and 1/3" Sensor Coverage Limits

The CS-mount flange distance restricts use to cameras designed for that standard; it will not reach focus on C-mount bodies without an adapter. The 1/3" image circle covers diagonal angles from 99° to 173.8°, horizontal from 79.4° to 144.2°, and vertical from 59.6° to 109.4°. Sensors larger than 1/3" will vignette at the wide end, while smaller sensors crop the field of view. Minimum focus distance is .2 metres, so subjects closer than that cannot be sharpened.
