The Cisco Catalyst 9500 series switch provides forty-eight 25GBase-X ports and four 100GBase-X uplinks in a managed, rack-mountable chassis. It is built for campus core and aggregation layers that require high-density 25G access with 100G backbone connectivity.

Forty-eight 25G ports serve high-density server or access-switch connections while the four 100G uplinks aggregate traffic toward the core. The platform runs out of 100G uplink capacity when more than four 100G links are required.

The 21.96 lb rack-mountable form factor installs in standard four-post racks and operates as a fully managed Layer 2 and Layer 3 device. It frees up uplink slots by consolidating 25G access onto a single appliance.
