Agile Bluetooth Laser Scanner for Mobile Workers

The CipherLab 1562 is a cordless handheld barcode scanner that uses a visible laser diode at 650 nm to read 1D symbols at 100 scans per second. It connects via Bluetooth Class 2 to a communication stand that supports up to seven scanners and offers 90 metres line-of-sight range. When out of range the unit switches to batch mode and stores over 30,000 scans. The scanner weighs 0.39 lb and withstands multiple 1.2 m drops onto concrete.

Replaces Tethered Scanners for Warehouse

This model replaces the earlier A1562CBK0H002 and upgrades workflows that previously relied on corded USB or RS-232 scanners. The jump is worth it when staff must move beyond a fixed checkout lane, cover large aisles or load docks, and need continuous operation without returning to a base station. It also suits teams that require occasional hands-free scanning through the optional stand.

Limited to 1D Codes and Requires Minimum Contrast

The laser engine reads only linear barcodes and cannot capture 2D symbols such as QR or Data Matrix. It needs a print contrast ratio of at least 45 percent and a resolution of 4 mils, so damaged, low-contrast or very dense labels may fail. The depth of field spans 2 cm to 57 cm, so very close or very distant labels fall outside the readable zone. IP30 rating means no protection against water or fine dust.
