Purpose and Operation

The CHAUVET Hurricane Haze 2D is a water-based haze machine built for DJs and event technicians who need a thin, consistent atmosphere to make light beams visible. It produces continuous output after a brief initial warm-up, so the effect stays steady throughout a set without pausing to reheat. A digital display handles DMX addressing and standalone settings, while a wired timer remote stores on the unit for quick manual triggering. The adjustable output angle lets you direct haze exactly where the fixtures need it.

Thermals, Noise and Power Draw

The heater warms the fluid to operating temperature once at start-up, then maintains it for uninterrupted haze generation. A low-fluid indicator lights and the machine shuts off automatically to protect the pump and heater from running dry. Blower speed is adjustable, so you can balance output volume against audible fan noise for quieter venues. Power consumption scales with the heater and blower settings chosen during use.

Build Integration

The unit requires water-based haze fluid and a standard mains supply; no external compressor or CO₂ cylinder is needed. DMX in/out ports allow it to sit on a lighting data chain alongside movers and pars, while standalone mode lets it run without a console. The wired remote plugs into the front panel and tucks into its dedicated compartment when not in use. Adjustable output angle and variable blower speed give flexibility for floor, truss or tabletop placement in venues of different sizes.
