Vehicle-Specific Brake Controller Harness

The CARROFIX trailer brake control harness is a plug-and-play wiring adapter built for 2015-2022 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 models. It connects a compatible brake controller to the factory port beneath the dash without cutting or splicing. The 32-inch length allows flexible positioning of the controller unit. This harness is not for vehicles outside the listed RAM fitment or for controllers lacking a rear wiring port.

Stable Connection Under Towing Loads

The adapter uses dedicated conductors to maintain signal integrity during sustained braking events. A 14-gauge black wire supplies 12-volt power, an 18-gauge red wire carries the stop-light signal, a 14-gauge blue wire transmits the brake output signal and a 14-gauge white wire provides the ground path. This wiring layout reduces the risk of short circuits and cross-wiring that can arise when cables are tapped into manually. The design supports consistent controller operation throughout long downhill grades or heavy stop-and-go traffic.

Thermal And Electrical Behaviour In Normal Use

The harness operates passively with no active cooling or moving parts, so it produces no audible noise. Power draw is limited to the brake controller's own requirements delivered through the 12-volt supply wire. Conductor gauges are sized to handle normal towing currents without excessive voltage drop or heat buildup. The factory-style connectors seat securely in the dash port and controller rear port, resisting vibration-induced loosening over time.
