RF mount lens constraints

The included RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens covers wide-angle to normal focal lengths but its variable maximum aperture limits low-light flexibility at the long end. Autofocus relies on Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with 1,053 zones covering 100% by 100% of the frame, yet subject detection is restricted to people, animals, vehicles, aircraft, trains and horses. Video recording stops automatically after two hours.

Compact build and daily handling

A magnesium-alloy chassis keeps the camera rigid while staying light enough for all-day carry on a strap or in a small bag. The RF mount accepts the growing line of native lenses, though the kit lens extends when zooming, which can snag on tight openings. The vari-angle screen folds inward to protect the surface when the camera is stowed. No in-body stabilisation is present, so steady handheld video depends on the lens IS or external support.
