The Canon BG-E20 battery grip attaches to the EOS 5D Mark IV and accepts up to two LP-E6 or LP-E6N batteries. Two-battery capacity extends shooting time

With two LP-E6N cells installed the grip roughly doubles the available shots compared with the camera's single internal battery. The unit weighs 13.8 oz, adding noticeable but manageable heft for better balance with large lenses. Once both cells are depleted the camera stops, so very long sessions still require spare batteries or a mains adapter. The grip draws from one battery at a time, switching automatically when the first is exhausted.
