What the adapter does

This compact dongle adds a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB‑C power‑delivery port to phones, tablets or laptops that only have a USB‑C socket. It lets you listen to wired headphones or connect to a car AUX input while the device charges at the same time. The CTIA‑standard jack works with most modern headsets but will not function with OMTP‑wired models.

Sustained use behaviour

The built‑in DAC handles 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz sample rates at 16, 24 and 32‑bit depth for Hi‑Res playback, while the ADC captures at 48 kHz and 16‑bit for microphone input. During extended sessions the internal protection circuit activates if temperatures rise too high, dissipating heat to keep performance stable. Power delivery reaches 60 W at 20 V/3 A when a compatible PD charger is used.

Build and daily implications

A no‑cable design keeps the unit small and prevents the bulk of traditional wired adapters. The USB‑C plug fits cases up to 2.8 mm thick, so thicker rugged cases such as OtterBox will block the connection. Volume control and call answering are supported on most Android devices and iPhone 15 models, but not on iPad Pro or Apple’s own 3.5 mm headsets, and the adapter does not carry data signals.
