Replacement Cloverleaf Cord for Laptop Power Bricks

The Cable Leader cord connects a standard NEMA 5-15P three-prong wall plug to an IEC 60320 C5 cloverleaf inlet found on many laptop adapters, printers and small electronics. At roughly one foot long it is intended for tight desk runs or as a spare travel cable. The 18 AWG copper conductors are wrapped in an SJT jacket rated for 105C and 300V, and the grounded design meets UL listing requirements.

Steady 10 Amp Capacity Under Continuous Load

The 18 AWG construction is rated for up to 10A, making it suitable for the sustained draw of typical laptop power bricks and similar light electronics. The SJT jacket maintains its temperature rating during prolonged use, so the cord does not degrade when the adapter runs at full output for hours. It is not sized for higher-draw equipment such as desktop PCs, servers or PDUs that require 13A, 15A or 20A circuits.

Upgrades from Damaged or Missing Factory Leads

This cord replaces a lost, frayed or non-grounded factory lead on any device that uses a C5 inlet. The jump is worth it when the original cable is too short for the outlet layout, when the grounding prong has broken off, or when a spare is needed for a second location. It will not serve equipment that demands a larger gauge such as 16 AWG, 14 AWG or 12 AWG for higher amperage loads.
