Ground Clamp for 4 AWG to 4/0 AWG Copper

The Burndy pipe ground clamp connects a single copper grounding conductor ranging from 4 AWG to 4/0 AWG to metallic pipe. It is built for commercial electrical installations that require a listed mechanical connection to a grounding electrode system. Galvanised steel hardware resists corrosion in outdoor or damp locations. The clamp accepts pipe diameters up to 8 inches.

Replaces Non-Listed or Undersized Clamps

Installers should choose this clamp when a UL 467 listed connection is required by code and the existing hardware is unlisted, damaged or rated for a smaller conductor range. The jump is worth it on service entrances, separately derived systems or lightning protection down-conductors where the inspector expects a listed mechanical ground clamp for copper wire. It is not for buyers who need a clamp for aluminium conductors or for pipe larger than 8 inches.

Handles 4 AWG Through 4/0 AWG Solid or Stranded

The connector accommodates the full range of 4 AWG to 4/0 AWG in both solid and stranded copper, giving headroom for future service upgrades without changing the clamp. It runs out when the grounding conductor exceeds 4/0 AWG or when the pipe diameter is greater than 8 inches. The 10.5 inch overall length provides working space for conductor insertion and torqueing.
