Ground clamp for 1/2 to 1 in pipe

The Burndy C61 grounding connector clamps a single copper conductor to water pipe or hub sizes ranging from 1/2 in to 1 in. It accepts solid wire from 10 to 6 AWG and stranded wire from 8 to 6 AWG. The bronze body provides a mechanical connection that is UL Listed to UL467. This clamp suits electricians and installers who need a code-compliant pipe ground for residential or light-commercial work.

Wire range and pipe capacity

The connector handles one grounding wire at a time, with a maximum conductor size of 6 AWG and a minimum of 10 AWG solid or 8 AWG stranded. It fits pipe diameters up to 1 in and down to 1/2 in, using the included 1/2 in hub. Larger conductors, multiple wires or pipe sizes outside this range exceed the listed capacity and require a different fitting.

UL467 mechanical grounding limits

The clamp is certified only for the mechanical attachment of a single copper grounding conductor to metallic water pipe within the stated size window. It does not support aluminium conductors, non-metallic pipe or direct burial without additional protection. Installers needing to ground larger conductors, multiple cables or non-standard pipe materials must select a fitting rated for those conditions.
