The module arrives coded with the configuration data that Cisco switches and routers expect, so it initialises immediately on insertion. Buyers who need longer single-mode reach or a different form factor such as SFP+ will not be served by this part.

Rated for 0 to 70 °C operating temperature, the transceiver runs within standard data-centre limits without additional airflow planning.
