The Brute Networks 1000BASE-LX SFP module delivers 1 Gbps over single-mode fibre up to 10 km using a 1310 nm wavelength. It is built to match Aruba Networks JW087A specifications and meets MSA industry standards. The unit operates across a commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 °C. Status LEDs show power, link activity, full-duplex mode and speed.

LC Duplex Module for Switch Uplinks

The transceiver plugs directly into an SFP port with an LC duplex connector, requiring single-mode patch cables for the link. It draws power from the host switch and adds no external power supply to the rack. Digital output monitoring is not included, so the host must rely on its own port diagnostics. The lightweight design weighs 2 oz and fits standard SFP cages without blocking adjacent ports.

Upgrade for Extended Single-Mode Reach

This module replaces short-range or multi-mode optics when a campus or metro link exceeds their distance limit. The 10 km reach suits building-to-building or distribution-layer connections that standard LX optics cannot cover. It is not suited for links beyond 10 km, for dense wavelength-division multiplexing, or for environments outside the 0 to 70 °C commercial range.
