The Brocade ICX7250-24-2X10G is a new stackable managed switch with 24 RJ45 ports operating at 10/100/1000Mbps and 8 SFP uplinks. It suits network administrators who need Layer 2 and Layer 3 features including static IPv4 and IPv6 routing, VLANs, QoS and LACP link aggregation. The 16K MAC address table and 9216-byte jumbo frame support handle enterprise traffic patterns. It is not for buyers who require Power over Ethernet on any port.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous traffic the switch forwards at wire speed across all 24 copper ports and the SFP uplinks using a non-blocking fabric. ECMP and VRRP provide redundancy without session interruption during failover. IGMPv2, IGMPv3 and MLDv2 snooping constrain multicast floods so bandwidth remains available for unicast flows. Storm control and DoS prevention mitigate broadcast storms that would otherwise degrade throughput over long periods.

Thermals noise and power

The unit runs from AC 120/230 V at 50/60 Hz with an internal power supply; no external adapter is required. Fan speed is temperature-regulated, so acoustic output rises only when chassis sensors detect sustained high utilisation. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet reduces PHY power during low-link utilisation without management intervention. AES encryption secures management sessions over HTTPS, SNMPv3 and SSH without adding measurable processing latency.
