What this product is

The Boxwave Gold Plated 3-RCA Female Coupler Adapter connects two sets of triple RCA cables. Each pack contains two white, red, and yellow couplers for joining composite video and stereo audio runs. The compact design saves space and is simple to carry for quick system changes.

When to use these couplers

They replace the need for longer pre-made cables when existing leads fall short. The jump is worth it when you must extend component video or analog audio links between source devices, displays, or receivers without signal conversion.

Behaviour under sustained use

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion to maintain conductivity over repeated insertions. The passive construction adds no active circuitry, so performance depends entirely on the quality and length of the cables being joined.

Questions about this item

Will the three colour-coded RCA sockets on each coupler line up with standard composite-video and stereo-audio cables?

Yes, each coupler provides white, red and yellow female RCA jacks that match the standard colour coding for left audio, right audio and composite video.

How do I connect two existing RCA cables using this coupler, and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Push one cable's male RCA plug into each side of the coupler until it seats firmly; the mistake is leaving a gap, which causes signal loss or intermittent contact.

The gold plating on the contacts — does it wear off, and will I need to replace the couplers periodically?

Gold plating resists oxidation far better than bare metal, so under normal indoor use the contacts stay reliable for years without scheduled replacement.
