Purpose and users

The Bogen Communications TPU100B is a wall-mounted telephone paging amplifier rated at 100 watts. It is designed for commercial environments that require automatic voice paging over a background music system. The unit activates the paging channel when it detects a signal from a telephone line and mutes the music source during the announcement.

Aphex Aural Exciter effect

The integrated Aphex Aural Exciter circuit regenerates harmonics lost during amplification. This processing increases presence, clarity and intelligibility while creating greater perceived loudness without raising actual output power. It also reduces listener fatigue during extended paging or music playback sessions.

Telephone paging constraints

Paging operation relies on signal activation from a connected telephone system; it does not function as a general-purpose audio amplifier without that trigger. The VOX sensitivity adjustment prevents background noise from opening the paging channel, and the automatic leveling circuit maintains constant output only within the signal range provided by the telephone interface. Music muting depth and return timing are adjustable but limited to the single paging channel architecture.
