Four-Port KVM for Desktop Use

The Black Box ServSwitch DT Basic II lets one person operate four PS/2 computers from a single PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse and monitor. It is built for office or lab desks where space is limited and re-cabling is impractical. No external power supply is needed because the unit draws power from the connected interfaces. Hot-key commands and front-panel buttons both change the active port.

Fits on a Desk Without Rack Hardware

Its compact footprint sits on or under a desk, removing the need for a wiring closet or rack mounting. Four sets of PS/2 cables from the computers plug into the switch, while one set of peripherals plugs into the console side. The Autoscan mode cycles through all connected machines at 10-second intervals so activity can be monitored without manual switching. LEDs on the front panel show which port is currently active.

Video Support Up to 1920 x 1440

The switch passes video signals at resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 without degrading the image. It handles standard office applications, legacy diagnostics and text-based consoles comfortably. Higher-resolution displays or digital video interfaces such as DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort are not supported. Buyers who need more than four ports or modern video connectors will need a different class of KVM.
